Call for Abstracts
THE CALL FOR ABSTRACTS WILL OPEN MAY 1 (approximate)
Type of Abstract Presentation
Poster Presentation: A poster presentation gives an author the opportunity to acquaint attendees and experts in the field with the fundamentals of his or her abstract and research.
Presenting authors are to be in attendance at their poster boards during the BOTH lunchtime poster sessions on Thursday, September 19 and Friday, September 20.
Posters display size is 4 ft. high by 3.5 ft. wide (VERTICAL FORMAT).
Submission Guidelines
The portal for Abstract submission will open approximately May 10.
All investigators will be notified the first week of August about acceptance of their abstracts.
Multiple abstracts from one laboratory are allowed. However, only one abstract may be submitted per person.
Each abstract must be entered into the system separately, with the appropriate author information.
Authors should not split data to create several abstracts from the same work. If splitting is judged to have occurred, acceptance of all abstracts may be jeopardized.
Case studies and/or literature reviews will not be accepted.
Abstracts that have been submitted to other conferences (ATS, etc.) are permissable, but should contain new data.
Abstracts should not contain proprietary or confidential information.
If a drug has a generic version, the generic name(s) should be used for all drugs that qualify. If using brand names, they need to be company agnostic, not promotional, and consistent throughout your abstract(s) and presenting poster.
Abstracts are accepted based on scientific merit and originality.
Please note that ownership of abstracts and posters remains with the author(s).
Please Note:
Accepted abstracts will be reproduced and included in the conference handout. Submission of your abstract signifies consent of print and distribution of those materials.
Submission of an abstract by a presenting author certifies that all authors are aware of and have agreed to have the abstract submitted and published in the conference handout.
Submission constitutes a commitment from the author(s) to present their poster if the abstract is accepted. Presenting authors are required to register for PILC.
The author submitting the abstract should be the poster presenter, if accepted. PILC only sends notifications to the submitting author.
All expenses associated with abstract submission and poster presentation are the presenter’s responsibility.
Requests for withdrawal of an accepted abstract/poster must be received by the PILC in writing at dobranskyta@upmc.edu by August 23.
All are invited to attend the conference, regardless of abstract submission status. However, registration is mandatory for everyone who plans to attend the conference, including presenting authors of accepted abstracts.
